The purpose of my art is to express the beauty of nature, both landscape and figure. My intention of such expression is hopefully through beautiful mark making. I believe elegant marks are created from inhibition of body movement, and the allowance of natural tendencies of the medium. (oil, ink, the brush, etc)

Art is not an imitation of Nature, I believe. It is based on Nature but perhaps I would like to think it is evolving from nature and my paintings are entities of their own.
