| LaJeunesse Lynda LaJeunesse Lynda says: "Painting is my escape, my release, my passion. I have been drawing since I could hold a crayon, on every surface I could get my hands on. This in some cases got me in trouble (like drawing on my father’s mint Beatles albums), but I kept at it. I first started working in paints at around age 14 first with oils, then with acrylics. I loved the endless possibilities that a blank canvas and a box of paints gave me, and also the larger format of the canvas that led me to be freer and more open in the style of my work. I am currently working primarily in acrylics which are most suited to my style of quick, gestural paintings, and experimentation with color and the medium itself. " Jess Lawrence Jess says: "My love of art was born in the Midwest, where I grew up in a rural town in Illinois; there, I learned to escape small town life by creating art. Today, my work is inspired by nature and the city. It is my vision to show work which is fresh, soulful and which pushes the boundaries as I continue to learn. I am constantly working to improve my skills and hone my abilities to express myself through painting. As an emerging artist, I aim to surprise the viewer with the mystery and honesty of self-taught art." |
