| Elsasser Chris Elsasser ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Chris Says: "In spring of 2008, I started a line of handmade lightboxes under the name “Munstre.” My work has been heavily influenced by antique images. I enjoy the aesthetic of old photography and naturally discolored paper, and I try to replicate that quality in each individual piece. The images I tend to use are fragments from old photographs, which are then assaulted with paper textures, abstract colors, various patterns & lighting to give some extra depth & interest until it reaches its final state. Placing the images into the lightboxes adds a dimension to the work, as well as a functionality that I feel is essential to the overall charm of this work."
